WATER
POLLUTION IN SEAS AND
OCEANS
The water pollution produced by the
issuance of toxic gases, occasional spills of
oil, or metal pollution, waste sewage or
pesticides for example, the waste produced
by factories.
The law provides for the reduction of
hazardous waste through the gradual
reduction in the use of toxic products on
the part of the industry or through the
purification of waste.
WATER
SHORTAGE
The drought causes devastating effects in
the countries that suffer it. Currently,
many countries have less water than they
need.
At the beginning of the next century, a
third of nations will have water scarcity
permanently.
The underground lakes, dating from
prehistoric times, are running out
quickly.

Waste are materials
generated by the man. Some
are reused, but others are
piling up in landfills,
rivers, seas or any other
place.
DEFORESTATION
The large-scale destruction of forests by the
human action.
The deforestation pace of some 17 million
hectares a year.
Forests play a key role in the carbon
storage, because they are the lungs of the
Earth. When they are destroyed, the excess
of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere
contributes to global warming of the
Earth, and this involves multitude of side
effects.

One of the consequences of the
extermination of animal species,
such as the panda or the Iberian
lynx, is to break the foodstuff cycle.
