Global Health Competencies
In low- and middle-income settings, graduates will be able to:
• Use program and budget management skills to design and
implement health programs
• Apply a multidisciplinary approach to analyze health
systems and institutions involved in financing and
providing preventative and curative health services at the
multilateral, bilateral, national, and community levels
• Integrate information and apply models from
epidemiological, economic, behavioral, and cultural
perspectives to promote social changes required to

Mexico Field Practicum
Runs early May to end of July; 6 credits
Components:
• Conduct Public Health Community
Assessment with MPH students from Mexico
• Work alongside public health practitioners in
Mexico
• Requires Spring Semester preparation, under
direction of Dr. Veronika Wirtz, in Boston.
• Apply in January
• Spanish Fluency Required
• Info Sessions in Nov/Dec.

Philippines Summer Program
Runs late May through mid-August; six credits
Three Components:
• Parasitology Field Course
(UP College of Public Health)
• Community Health Financing
Study Tour (INAM)
• Individual Field Practicum
w/Organization in Philippines
