What is a Gerund?
• A gerund in a NOUN made from a
verb. To make a gerund, you add
“ing” to the verb.
Noun: ‫שם עצם‬
Verb: ‫פועל‬

What are infinitives?
• An infinitive is the basic form of
the verb + “to”.
Examples:
to buy, to run, to fish, to scream,
to tell….

decide, etc.

allow, remind, teach, show, advise,
etc.

• Some verbs and expressions are
followed by infinitives without “to”.
