sum
product
sum
difference
difference –what is left
after subtracting one
number from another
The difference between 6 and 15
is 9. (9 is the difference)
addend
addend- numbers that
are added to another
2 + 3 + 10 = 15
The numbers 2, 3, and
10 are the addends.
product
product- a number
resulting from multiplying
two or more numbers
5 X 8 = 40
(40 is the product of 8 X 5)
sum
sum- the number
you get when you
add 2 or more
numbers together.
100 + 150 = 250
250 is the sum.
predicate
predicate – a word
that tells what is
said about the
subject
The dog dug a hole.
subject

Compound Sentence
•Compound – a
sentence that has
two complete
thoughts
