General Safety
 LS1 safety supervision: Dimitar, Didier, Sergey, Maryia,
Natascia, Illona, Edward
Daily safety supervision, PPSPS and WPA
SLIMOS, OPM, EOD
 Upgrade of the safety systems: Sergey, Didier, Cedric
o Detector Safety System (upgrade on going)
o New Flammable Gas detection system (late)
o Upgrade of the centrale detection gas USA15
o Maintenance of the safety systems:
 Sniffers (Didier, Francesco, Gevorg, Fred, Cedric, Charles)
 Radiation Gate monitors (to be done)
 Foam system (to be done)
 Fire detection, gas, etc.. (on going)

Radiation Protection
 RP calculations and ALARA budgets for the end of LS1 and future:
Irina, Natascia, Illona, Krzyztof
The comparison with the dose measured at start of LS1 are finished.
(We see a factor 2 maximum of difference between calculated and
measured).
We are currently upgrading the ATLAS FLUKA model.
Zoning calculations are on going up to 2035
A first estimation of the doses rates for
LS4 and LS5 have been performed
for ATLAS and for CMS (ECFA).
Preparation of the ATLAS closing period
New environmental dose rates calculations
are on going with revised luminosity and
upgraded model.
Participation to ITK upgrade studies and others ....

Mantis robot has been
transferred to ATLAS
Testing of remote handling operations for ISOLDE and for BP operations
are on going in collaboration with Oxford Technology Company:
