Ideological foundation of Islam, Allah
(God)
 Meaning of Islam
The word Islam means peace, purity, submission
and obedience.
It olso means submission to the will of God and
obedience to his laws.
Islam is one of the Abrahamic religions, and it is the
second religion in the world.
The basic articles of Islamic faith
True believers are those Muslims who believe:
 in God
in his angels
in his book consummated the Quran
in his messengers with the fact that Muhammad
was the last of them
on the Day of Judgment
 in the absolute knowledge and wisdom of God

Who was the prophet Muhammas?
 Mohammad was a man from Mecca.
 Muhammad was born in Mecca in the year 570.
 At age 40, he was visited by Gabriel and received
his first revelation from God.
 he himself was a prophet and messenger of God.
 Muhammad migrated from Mecca to Medina in
the year 622.
 The Hijra, marks the beginning of the Islamic
calendar.
 Muhammad fell ill and died.
Sacred Texts
 Quran:
It is the first written monument of Arabic
literature.
It is written in Arabic and by Muslims expresses
God's word.
Is divided into 114 chapters, called suras.
These statements write down on pieces of leather,
stone or clay pots.
 Hadith:
Contain a set of teachings, sayings and deeds of
Mohammad.
Is used as an auxiliary instrument to clarify the
unclear passages of the Quran.
Five Pillars of Islam
1. Confession of faith
Prayer
3. Zakat
4. Fasting the month of Ramadan
5. The Pilgrimage to Mecca

Islamic holidys
Eid al-Fitr
Is a Muslim holiday that celebrates the end of
Ramadan.
Eid al-Adha
Is a religious holiday.
On this day, sacrificing a piece of livestock (sheep,
cow or camel).
The meat of the victims distributed to the relatives
and the poor.

What is forbidden for Muslims (as part
of a healthy lifestyle)
 Pork
 Alcoholic drinks
 Drugs and similar substances
Islamic Foundation in the Czech
Republic
 The Islamic Foundation had been created in larger
cities.
 Prague and Brno were they built a mosque.
 The mosque was officially opening in 1998.
 Islamic Foundation provides lectures in schools.
 In the mosque, teaching Arabic and Czech for
foreigners, teaching Islam to children and adults.
 Islamic Foundation is a charitable activity.
 Islamic Foundation in Brno and Prague
cooperate.
Conclusion
 This my graduation thesis was devoted to Islam.
 Bring this religion to all people.
 Try to convince them to trust islam.
 I feel concerned about some manifestations of
intolerance.
 I wish that the idea of peace was presented in our
daily life.
 This work helped me to know the history of Brno
mosque.

The basic part of the mosque is the mihrab, a prayer niche,
which is oriented toward Mecca.
