Located in the northwest corner of
Africa, Morocco is dominated by the
Atlas Mountains.
The high mountains helped protect
Morocco from European colonialism until
1912.
From 1912 to 1956 the country was
divided into French and Spanish zones.
 99 % of inhabitants are Muslims..


and processing, food processing, leather
goods and textiles.

Education…….
In 1963, education became compulsory
for Moroccan children between the ages
of 7 through 13 however, enrolment was
only at about 85% in 2000.
The Duration of compulsory education:
Age of school entry is 7 years old, and
the leaving age is 14 years old.
cuLturE……..
 The traditional dress for men is called
djellaba, a loose, hooded garment with sleeves.
 For special occasions, men wear a red cap called
tarbouche. Nearly all men wear baboosh which are
soft leather slippers, often in yellow. Many women do
as well but others wear high-heeled sandals.
 Most Moroccan food is eaten with the hands. If you
were invited to join someone for a meal, you should
always eat with the right hand as the left is supposed
to be used for the toilet!
