Transcript The digestive system - Bramber Primary School
In my wonderful power
point I hope you will
know a bit more
information about the
digestive system.
The teeth in your
mouth are made
up of enamel ,
dentine and pulp
with nerve endings
in it. Enamel is the
strongest material
in your body but
can often rot away
by bacteria.
Also you have
32 teeth when
you have all
your wisdom
teeth.
The Oesophagus
is a pipe that
goes down to the
stomach and the
walls are made of
muscles that
squeeze the food
down the
Oesophagus.
The stomach holds stomach acid
that melts down the food until
it’s mulch (that's in the space of
3 to 4 hours) and then goes
down into the small intestine .
The Intestines
suck the goodness
out of food, well
that is what the
small Intestine
does, the large
Intestine carries
the unwanted
food out of the
body in a pile of
waste.
How many
teeth do you
have when
you have all
of your
wisdom
teeth?
25, 32 or 34?
In the
Oesophagus
what are the
walls made
of?
Muscle,
bone or
plastic?
How much
time does
your food
take in your
stomach?
3 to 4 hours ,
3 minuets or
1 hour?
What does the large
intestine do?
Carries the food until
its in the waste,
sucks the goodness
out of the food or
lets it rot?
Now you have
completed the 1st and
2nd part but the 3rd part
is coming up but you
have done a quiz so you
need a rest, but we are
not looking at your
body we are looking at
animal’s bodies. Well I
tried, it did not work,
and so we are doing
things like the
pancreas.
The pancreas is
like a maid to the
stomach because
it helps it with the
digestion.
Villi is a tissue in
the small
intestine which
sucks the
goodness out of
the food.
