Lesson: The human organs
The purpose of our lesson.
In this lesson we are
introducing the human
organs. We want the class
to understand the inside of
their body. Plus, to know
that no matter what the
person looks like on the
outside we are all the
same in the inside.
If there is someone with
different “insides” we can
discuss the reasons why
and how they are still the
same as everyone else.
*Introduction*
This would be the first lesson
on the human organs. We
will start out with asking
the diverse children to
come to the front of the
room. Then, we would
ask the class if these
children are the same in
the inside. This will give
us a better idea on how the
class thinks about the
“different” people.
Next, we will show the
picture of organs from
different races and show
how they all look the
same. We will then
continue the lesson on the
names of the organs of the
stomach region.
Discussion of Inner Organs
• Now we are going to
talk about particular
organs of the stomach
area. These organs are:
stomach, large and
small intestine,
kidneys, and liver.
The Stomach
• This picture is of the
stomach. We will go
over on how the
stomach works and
what it is connected to.
This picture will help
them understand how
EVERYBODY has the
same stomach.
First Website
• www.madsu.org/~lynn/VH/
• This website will help with this lesson
because there is a lot of details about the
body and its organs. This website will
benefit the teacher and students. The teacher
will be able to show different pictures to the
students.
Large Intestine
• This picture is of the
large intestine. We will
discuss how the large
intestine works and
what it does for the
body. This photo will
help the students to
understand that
EVERYBODY has the
same organs.
Second Website
• www.google.com
• This website is also very useful for both
teachers and students. This website helps
finding a lot of information. It is a good
place to find out new information about the
insides of the body and very good pictures.
The students can learn a lot of new things
from this website.
Small Intestine
• This is a picture of the
small intestine. We will
talk about its functions
and how it works in the
body. This photo will
enhance the knowledge of
the students about how
EVERYONE is the same.
Third Website
• www.aolatschool.com
• This website is just awesome. It is designed
for kids. It is easy to follow and has a lot of
information about all kinds of things. This
website is a good one for this lesson
because the students can explore this
website for different information about the
topic.
Kidneys
• This is a picture of the
kidneys. We will teach
the students about the
functions and how the
kidneys work in the
body. This lesson and
picture will help the
children learn that they
are ALL the same
inside and out.
Fourth Website
• www.nlm.nih.gov/research/visible/animatio
ns.html
• This website can help teachers to discover
new pictures and facts about the body. This
website can also help the teachers think of
the new ideas for a lesson.
Liver
• Here is a picture of the
liver. In this lesson, we
will discuss its
functions and how it
works in the body.
This will help the
students to understand
that they are ALL the
same no matter what.
Fifth Website
• www.ceismc.gatech.edu/busyt/
• This website is a great one for teachers. It
has ideas for every subject. This website
helps the teachers with lesson plans and
ideas of new topics. Overall this website is
very helpful for teachers to help their
students learn as much as possible.
Discussion
We will then pass out
snacks and have the
children talk about
how the food is
digested in their
systems. We will ask
questions if necessary
to help with the
discussion.
Then, well will have a
group activity with the
ideas of the digestion
process. This will lead
up to next weeks
lesson of digestion.
Rapping it up!
After, the discussion we will have a
review session when the children
do a picture diagram. They will be
labeling and coloring the stomach
area.
Summary of Lessons
We will be discussing the organs of the
stomach area. We will touch the names and
duties of those organs. With the fun review
at the end of the lesson. Throughout the
whole lesson we will stress that everyone
one is the same in the inside and no one can
judge a book by it’s cover.
Everyone is the same inside and
out. Diversity is essential in life.
