What is happening
here?
Learning Objectives :
To revise Magnetism from KS2 and to plot
magnetic field lines
First…. A game to help you revise
1. Work in pairs, each pair has 2 sets of 7 cards
2. Keyword on the front, full definition on the back
3. Sort into 2 sets and place keyword up in front of each
player
4. 1st player chooses a keyword and asks his opponent for the
definition
5. If it is correct the person asking the question places this
card to one side. If the answer is wrong the correct
definition from the back of the card is read out
6. Next players go
7. The winner is the one who answers all the questions
correctly first
Practical : AIM
To plot magnetic field lines
A magnetic field is the space around a magnet
where is can affect magnetic materials or
other magnets
We represent the field as lines flowing from
the north pole to the south pole
Apparatus :
1.Plotting compasses
2.Bar magnets
3.Pencils
4.Paper
Results :
You will have produced a picture on the paper which
represents the field lines
Please clear all the equipment away….
And then we’ll look at your results….
