Location
Africa is both north and south of the equator.
Africa is bordered by the Indian ocean on the
east and the Atlantic ocean on the west.
Climate
• Africa has wet and dry seasons. Most of Africa
is hot. Africa is hot because it’s near the
equator. Its a little colder near the south pole.
Land forms
• Africa is the 2nd largest continent.
• It has the Sahara Desert.
• There are rain forests and mountains.
Countries
• 53 countries in Africa. Some countries are
such as Egypt, Algeria, Morrocco, Libya,
Tunisia.
People
Many children don’t go to school. 689 million
people live there. There are lots of farmers and
herders.

• Antarctica is located at the south pole.
• The Southern ocean is around Antarctica.

• The temperature rarely gets above
freezing.
• Antarctica is an ice cap two miles
thick.

not covered with ice.

many different oceans: the

• South America is the 4th largest continent.
• The Amazon river is the longest river in South
America.

North America
