in the regions to find out what best regional
procurement practice looks like with the aim of
driving up standards and consistency across
the country.

Project approach
Southern Regional Purchasing Group pharmacists interviewed:
1. current regional procurement arrangements
2. views on what are key elements of good practice
Questionnaire completed by Northern Specialist Procurement
Pharmacists based on:
• 26 identified procurement parameters
• 43 procurement “success factors”
All assessed current status against these defined procurement
parameters and “success factors” to provide a national summary.
