Remote Monitoring & Control
Using the Mk.7 D.T.I.’s Ethernet and RS422, the following remote
connections are possible:
• Modbus connection over RS422 connection
• Modbus TCP/IP connection over Ethernet connection
• C.E.M.S. Auditing software can be used over the Ethernet
connection:
Local Area Network
Remote (internet) connection using business/home
network
Remote (internet) connection using GSM modem –
separate frrom business network (useful when sites do
not allow 3rd party connections to computer network)
Single PC use (using direct Ethernet connection
Single PC use (using 2nd NIC)
• NOTE: Modbus & C.E.M.S Audit Software can be used
simultaneously,

C.E.M.S. Audit Software – Supervisor / Manager
Two different versions of the C.E.M.S. Auditing Software are available:
Supervisor
Manager
• The supervisor software is supplied with the Mk.7 D.T.I. This allows
a connection to a single D.T.I., and requires an access key. This is
supplied with the D.T.I.
• The manager software is supplied at an additional cost. This allows
individual connections to multiple D.T.I. sites. Perfect for service
engineers, clients in charge of multiple sites etc.

• Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (C.E.M.S.) with auditing
function (when used with either a C.E.M.S., E.P.A. or MCERTs
E.G.A.) provides the following information:
•
Totalised gaseous volumes of O2, CO2, CO, NO, SO2 and
NO2
Totalised gaseous weights of O2, CO2, CO, NO, SO2 and
NO2
Fuel flow totals (either from M.M. or 4-20mA input from flow
meter)
Fuel cost totals
Cell degredation
Cell replacement

Mk.7 Input Output Module
The Mk.7 Input Output (I/O) Module now has the following connections:
• 6 x Analogue Inputs
• 6 x Analogue Outputs
20mA
• 16 Digital Inputs
• 8 Volt Free Contacts
0 – 10V, 0 – 20mA or 4 – 20mA
0 – 10V, 0 – 20mA or 4 –
110V or 230V
Connection ranges and units can be configured using the Mk.7 I/O
configuration tool.
• NOTE: The Input Output module can be used as a stand alone unit
to totalise the Analogue input values

the following features become available:
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Totalising of input analogue values
Monitoring of digital input values
Control of digital and analogue output signals
Averaging of multiple analogue inputs to be output as a single signal

Mk.7 I/O Module – O2 Interface Operation (O2 Module)
A new development with the Mk.7 I/O Module, is the ability to utilize the
I/O as an O2 interface. This enables a 3rd party O2 probe to be added to
the Autoflame system for trim operation and efficiency calculations.
This is done by using a plug in O2 Module to enable data
communications.
• A 0-20mA/4-20mA signal is required by the O2 module to provide the
O2 reading to the Autoflame system.
• A 0-10V signal is required by the O2 module to provide a stack
temperature reading to the Autoflame system.
• Replacement for the O2Interface module

Mk.7 D.T.I. Configuration - Network
The network setup for the Mk.7 D.T.I. is similar to the way a computer
connects to a network. Either DHCP (IP configuration aquired from
server) or a user configurable IP address can be used. The following
can be defined:
• Static IP address (address at which the D.T.I. can be accessed)
• Subnet mask (sets number of available address ranges on a
computer network)
• Default Gateway (device from which the D.T.I. accesses, and is
accessed from the internet)
• DNS Name (Name of the D.T.I. on the computer network)
• DNS Server (Name that provides device names/IP addresses to the
rest of the network)
• Port number (port on which the D.T.I. is accessed, either by the
C.E.M.S. Auditing Software or Modbus TCP/IP.
