Historical Background
• In 2004 the Ministry of Higher Education &
Scientific Research founded a library project.
• Project name was the Sudanese Universities
Information Network/Virtual Library (SUIN )
• The overall goal of the project was to link
universities in a network to provide local and
global information through a virtual library.
• In 2009, SUIN has become an NGO operational
under the umbrella of the Association of Sudanese
Universities.

• the National Research and Education Network of
Sudan.
• an NGO supported by the Ministry of Higher
Education and the Ministry of Science and
Communication.
• a network for promotion of infrastructure,
connectivity and ICT usage in Research and
Education institutions.
