Customer reference - Ceska Pojistovna, a.s.
Business challenge:
Ceska Pojistovna needed to integrate the heterogeneous IT environment into a single
functional unit without violating the integrity and consistency of information. It began to
look for a central monitoring system to consolidate management of the infrastructure,
with the ultimate goals of freeing up siloed resources, enhancing the quality and
relevance of data, increasing application availability and improving problem diagnosis.
In addition, Ceska Pojistovna sought a single configuration management database
(CMDB) and a comprehensive, modern service desk to support internal users.
Solution:
Ceska Pojistovna worked with IBM Business Partner GC System a.s. and IBM
Software Services for Tivoli to develop a sweeping IT monitoring and management
solution based on IBM Tivoli software and two IBM Power 550 Express servers.
Running the IBM AIX 6 operating system, each server is equipped with 128 GB of
RAM and 5 GHz CPUs, providing a high-performance platform for the Tivoli software.
Benefits:
 Reduced maintenance costs by USD200,000 by consolidating the
environment onto a standard software platform
 Saved USD25,000 annually in human resources costs by increasing
the efficiency and productivity of the IT department
 Cut overall IT costs while improving service levels and reducing
workload
Ceska Pojistovna, a.s., Customer Reference, June 2011
“A centrally managed IT
environment has been critically
important to the continuing
operation of our business. We
would not have been able to afford
a serious outage.”
