MANDATE
Tel•One’s overall mandate is to:





Provide connectivity that is reliable and affordable for everyone in
Zimbabwe
Construct, operate, develop, extend and maintain a public switched
telecommunications service
Provide fixed telecommunication and multimedia services (ADSL, Leased
Internet, data connectivity and Voice)
Provide basic telephone service to the people of Zimbabwe as a universal
service
Provide skills training in ICT for Zimbabwe and the region

1. Voice Services

Our voice service (Dial one) is Zimbabwe’s largest land line telecommunications
network fixed telephone line service, offered on post-paid platform over wire-line or
CDMA (Connect-Eezy) Wireless local loop, reaching even the most remote and
distant corners of the country

Optical extras - With a DialOne line you have ‘optional extras’ in the form of value
added services such as conference calling, call diversion and call waiting
•
CONNECT EEZY- our brand name for a wireless land line connection gives voice,
data and internet users more flexibility and mobility
•
Experience wireless freedom - Imagine sending an SMS from your landline,
receiving or making calls on your portable land line whilst you are out shopping at
the mall, or accessing the internet at high speed from wherever you are. You can
now experience a whole new world of wireless freedom.
2. Broadband Services
(i) Dedicated Internet Services
•
The service is recommended for any Enterprise/Corporate customers
to whom internet services are mission critical
•
It provides high speed symmetrical connectivity with unlimited access
and offers permanent internet connectivity

It offers reliable- high speed direct internet access
In addition, the service is on a 1:1 connection and guarantees tripple
play (Data, Voice and Video).
Network Redundancy
Our Internet infrastructure has redundancy for both inland routes
undersea cables and IP upstream providers.

(ii) ADSL Broadband
• A High Speed Internet Access Service that utilises existing copper telephone
lines to send and receive data at speeds that are comparative to Fibre speeds at
a lower rate.
• An option for broadband internet service using the same telephone cables
which maintain a permanent connection.
• Enables simultaneous use of phone and internet, so one can access the internet
and talk on the phone at the same time.
• Can support multiple computers either connected to the ports on the modem or
interface with the LAN or Wi-Fi.

3. Data Services
(i) Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Our VPN solutions:•
enable real-time information transfer at high bandwidth and use+ various media
including Fibre, DSL and VSAT

cover the data transfer services between an organisation’s offices or Branches.
The data could be financial information, registration data, reports, stocks on
hand, ERP, etc

are reliable - through our Fibre rings we will ensure network availability and
resilience in case of network failure

(ii) Leased line circuits

Leased lines are point to point circuits which are secure and exclusive to the user
connecting anywhere in the world

International Private leased Circuits are ideal for companies which have high
volumes of data transmission and/or which need high security in the transfer of
confidential information

4. Satellite Services
Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT)
•
Capable of providing connectivity to very remote locations and particularly
useful in areas where communications infrastructure is limited or non-existent

Supports voice, data and video services
•
Wide geographical coverage; can be located anywhere while you
experience the same quality and same access
•
Reliable data broadcast or multicast
•
Tel One currently provides the Ka Band and C Band Vsat
Ka-band
•Provides high power and higher throughput –
Spot Beams.
•Gives more digital bandwidth than Ku.
•Allows higher bandwidth communication.
•Enables the satellite operators to transmit
around ten times as much data over the
same satellite capacity as Ku band.
•Equipment used is much smaller, affordable
and much easier to set up than C Band.

This solution offers more advanced telecommunications for organisations with
