14 November Meeting
David Foster
SEATTLE
LHC T0-T1 Meeting,
Seattle, November 2005
David Foster, CERN
Scope for new attendees
• The “simplest” part of LHC networking is getting
the data from CERN to the Tier-1 centers.
• It involves however, a number of stakeholders,
initiatives and infrastructures.
• We want to understand how this part should be
handled from a production network perspective.
• But this is only one part of the overall problem
and we don’t deal with T1-T2 production
networking issues …. Yet.

Current State
• We have had a number of meetings and agreed on an
overall approach with many open questions.
– Some results have been published
• http://lcg.web.cern.ch/LCG/activities/networking/nw-grp.html
– And we have a wiki site for gathering operational information.
• As we move more and more towards providing an
production infrastructure needed for service challenges
in 2006, many basic issues still remain.
• The purpose of todays meeting is to review what has
been done since the last meeting and decide what
remains to be done
