(Clone 4020 Controllers) • The FTP server can be used by the administrator to load Graphic files or jobs to the printer. It is not used for printing, only for transferring files. 4000 4. Active X ■ A library for programmers which make it very simple to create customized windows applications. Gives full control of the printer. • Together with ActiveX controls it gives professional and nice looking customer applications. • The API handles the communication with the printer. Open ports, sends layouts, checks for status etc. Ethernet ActiveX Windows 9x/NT/2k/XP ActiveX will be released during Q4 2006 4000 5. XCL commands ■ XCL is used to communicate with a printer or applicator. This is done either via a serial port (RS232) or an Ethernet connection. XCL is a hierarchic command language with two different sets of command structures; one structure for the information and commands sent to the machine and one for the commands and information sent from the machine. ■ Example of commands !!system.job”Test” <CR> Load and print the job Test !!v!1”apple”<CR> Send to variable 1, text apple Imaje will provide a software component (ActiveX control) for easy integration with customer applications with all XCL commands.
