Research Interests
Accurate monitoring and detection of network threats
to isolate such activities in advance. And
authenticationand privacy protection in
communication networks. The communication
networks can be an access network like 802.11[Wi-Fi]
and 802.16[Wimax and Wibro], a wide area network
for VolP, a mobile adhoc network, or a fourthgeneration network.
His research areas include digital communication and
mobile communication physical layer engineering,
narrowband[QAM] and wideband[CDMA, OFDM]
communication technology, synchronization, channel
estimation, channel modeling, link performance
evaluation through simulation and MODEM-related
technology. The results are expected to be applicable
to various mobile and wireless communication
systems engineering.

Research Interests
His research areas include the management of the
internet and super-high-speed network, network
security, grid network, VOIP protocol, fault
detection systems based on agents and rule-based
reasoning, network performance measurements, etc.
His research areas include the design and
performance analysis of wired/wireless networks
systems. Internet routing protocol, mobile IPv4/IPv6,
wireless LAN/PAN, and home networks. Research
into wireless LAN, sensor networks, quality of
service[QoS] routing, optical network technologies,
and network mobility are in progress.
His research areas include the design and analysis of
wired/wireless communication networks systems,
MAC, resource allocation, scheduling, routing,
network formation, and mobility of wireless
networks systems[WPAN/WLAN/WMAN/4G],
adhoc/sensor/RFID networks, home networks, and
optical networks.

Research Interests
His research areas include distributed systems,
middleware, mobile computing, wireless networks
and 4G systems, with emphasis on discovery
protocols and interoperability in pervasive
environments. Research is in progress on developing
a new paradigm for adapting service discovery
modules to environmental changes, developing
scheduling algorithms, and protocol analysis and
performance evaluation from the wireless network
viewpoint.
His research areas include optimal video transmission
issues over wireless/wired and
broadcasting/communication networks, such as
WLAN/WPAN, CDMA, portable Internet[WiBro,
WiMAX], digital multimedia broadcasting[DMB, mobile
TV], 4G systems, wireless sensors and ad hoc networks.
They also include 3D video transmission, quality of
service[QoS] network systems, and multimedia
transmission over high-bandwidth networks.

Research Interests
Embedded System on Chip design for developing a lowpower and high-speed applications. As the portable
electronics market moves to computation-intensive products
like cellular telephones with bio-processing capabilities,
low-power design becomes critical, and the existing
reconfigurable radio and networks on chip architecture and
methodologies can be leveraged to create new platform
solutions for the next-generation mobile phones. With
computer-aided design tools such as Convergence and
Modelism, important applications are programmed with
VERILOG and verified on the SoC platform.
His research areas include hardware/software co-design
process and embedded systems for the efficient
implementation of computer and communication systems
and methodology and architecture for SoC which integrate
processor cores and peripherals into a single chip.

Research Interests
His research areas include wired/wireless/optical
networking, mobile computing, embedded systems and
grid computing based on computer networking, operating
systems, andalgorithms. Research is in progress on mobile
IPv6, network mobility, ad-hoc and sensor networks,
network security, high speed transmission in
wired/wireless networks. real-time data access based on
data grid, EPON and resource management in Lambda
networks, and the development of ubiquitous applications
of telematics and home networks by integrating HCI and
network techniques to provide intelligent services.
His research areas include the operating system and
distributed computing technologies in particular,
technologies for the next-generation distributed computing
paradigm such as mobile agents and ubiquitous
middleware, Linux-based embedded software and system
security and operating system and embedded middleware
for mobile devices.

multi-modal language processing, and Voice XML.

His research areas include various practical issues related to
video and image signal processing. To solve many real-world
problems for video services over mobile networks,
broadcasting networks, and the Internet, research is in
progress on the next generation video coding, international
standardization such as MPEG/H.264/SVC, stereoscopic
video processing, content protection technology such as
watermarking to cope with unauthorized copying and
modification of digital media, and implementation issues
using DSP processor and embedded systems.

His research areas include the development and
implementation of algorithms for geometric information
processing for example, algorithms for camera
calibration, 3-D measurements, 3-D visualization, and
object reconstruction. Applications of research include
many industrial areas in the near future, such as 3-D
television and intelligent robots.
His research areas include robotics, embedded systems,
and factory automation. Currently, research is in
progress of FPGA-based vision/speech systems and
intelligent and automotive ECUs[Electronic Control
Units], in embedded systems, and motion controllers and
automation controllers in factory automation..
