implementation of new information technology and
telecommunications in science and education, furthers
forming and development of informational society in Russia
and its integration to the global cyberspace, participates in
design of sectoral, intersectoral and federal programs
Telecommunications
SIIT&T
Informika
provides
telecommunication
connectivity in information systems of federal science and
education management. Data center of SIIT&T Informika
supports scientific and educational portals, hosts domains:
edu.ru, run.net, runnet,ru, mon.gov.ru, ed.gov.ru.
SIIT&T Informika supports international network segment
of network
Moscow–Saint Petersburg–Stockholm–
Amsterdam of 2,5 GB/sec, participates in project
GLORIAD aimed to build a transcontinental ring USA–
Russia–China.
Within 10 years RUNNet has become a national supporting
network with it’s own digital communication channels and
backbone Internet access.
Telecommunications
The federal scientific and educational network
RUNNet (Russian University Network), created
and supported by SIIT&T Informika, has
55 regional network nodes.
RUNNet resources are used by scientific and
educational networks of Russia such as
RBNet, RASNet, RSSI, RUHEP, Freenet.
The network numbers
more
than
1 500 000 individual users.
The
network
applies
IPv6, MPLS over SDH,
multicast.

Computer quality management
Adoption of computer quality management methods
enables to essentially upgrade products and services.
Application of computer quality management technology
in all levels of education enables to realize a strategic
planning of educational establishment activity, training
and management processes monitoring, actual teaching
programs and specialities forming, resource management
optimization in educational establishments.
Computer quality management
SIIT&T Informika develops, makes examinations and researches of
computer quality management applications in the following areas:
* principle development and realization of interaction between the
sector management system and university management subsystems;
* development of the sector effectiveness estimation system for
telecommunication and information infrastructures in education;
* software tools and information standards creating for centralized
monitoring system of training and methodological internet resources
with Internet access for all levels of education;
* recommendations development on quality of teaching materials for
distance studies ;
* problem analysis of information technology application in
education.

1.1 1.1. Study visits of Russian specialists to European Universities
(…)
3) University of Hamburg (organized and facilitated by EURICE and
imc). Objective: to study best European practice in building complex
University ICT infrastructure. The reason for picking this case is that
it is a unique example of top-down design of the whole
infrastructure, example which can be very interesting to Russian
Universities/ imc has close links to the ICT department there
