been reached
• Voice only VoWLAN or Cordless Solutions
– Limit communications to voice only
– Group calling PTT capabilities limited

Security: IP signaling TLS authentication utilizing
X.509 certificate challenge and RC4
encryption, IPSec
Performance Optimization
• Link between handset and WSM optimizes protocol for
registration, authentication, and synchronization of each
handset to improve battery life and mobility on WLAN
Network Access Control
• Network security profile is managed between handset and
system to extend security beyond the AP, an enhancement on
top of the existing security techniques (WPA2, 802.1X, etc).
Protects network via single entry point into network.
Call Detail Reporting
• Reports on both PTT and telephone calls

TEAM Wireless Services Manager (WSM 1.0)
KEY CAPABILITIES
PBX Interoperability
DESCRIPTION
Primary feature server for TEAM solution
providing SIP Proxy services, Push-To-Talk,
and other features to optimize battery life,
security, and interoperability
• Protocol connectors in the WSM allow a single common
handset interface while the WSM interoperates with a variety
of PBXs – avoids need to write a custom connection between
each PBX type and handset type
• SIP Proxy – Interface to IP PBX on behalf of handsets
• SIP Registrar – Stores handset registrations and supports
authentication and authorization of handsets

KEY CAPABILITIES CONTINUED
Push-to-Talk
Manageability
• One-to-one operation
• Subscriber Access Configuration Server - Database which
stores the complete set of subscriber data and ability to turn
features on and off
• Group Call with up to 255 talk groups
Scalability
• Low latency; call setup in under 1 second
• Excellent user experience via tightly managed
QoS and floor control
• Link management from handset to the system does not need to
be individually managed by PBX vendor or any other 3rd party
• Network efficient via Low-bit rate vocoder
• Reuse of single TLS connection between handset and WSM;
makes network more efficient.
• Scales easily to serve large number of users
• Intelligence to decide the best route for bearer traffic between
endpoints while maintaining control of the session (pseudo P2P)
• Unicast-based technology for efficient use of
bandwidth
Reliability - Redundancy
• Four-nines reliability today, with architecture that can be
extended in the future to include redundant configuration or fit
into clustered PBX architectures.
• Centralized user provisioning
• PTT Caller ID included in Call History
– Only the devices that need to talk receive a
signal
– Avoids bandwidth consumption of multi-cast in
which each devices is sent the same packet,
which can consume available bandwidth with a
small number of users

TEAM Solution
Two-Way Radio
System
RLS
RLS provides PTT talk-group communication between the TEAM
solution and an existing two-way radio solution.

The PTT talk- group interoperability is accomplished by using "donor" phones on both the
TEAM side and two-way radio side. Each talk-group requires a dedicated donor pair.
The donor devices become part of the RLS and are hardwired to the RLS.

When a TEAM user in talk group 1 initiates a PTT group call, the talk group 1 donor phone keys
and notifies the RLS. The RLS passes the initiation to the associated talk group 1 two-way radio
donor, which in turn notifies the two-way radios in talk group 1 of an incoming PTT talk group call.
This process works the same going in both directions.
