Early Years
• Attila the Hun was born around 406. Nothing certain is known
about his childhood; the supposition that at a young age he
was already a capable leader and a capable warrior is
reasonable but unknowable.
• Attila became king of the Hun in 434,when he was 28 years
old.
• Attila shared his power with his brother, Bleda, until 445, were
Attila became the king of the mighty army.
Middle Years
• Attila invaded the eastern half of the Roman empire
in the 440’s forcing the East Roman emperor to give
him 660 pounds of gold.
• In 450, he attacked Gaul of the Western Empire, and
the west is where he focused much of his attention
in his final years.
• Attila died in 453 AD and his empire crumbled soon
after his death.
Why this Person was Famous
• Attila was famous because he was very fierce,
and he was called the “Scourge of God”.
• Wherever he went people were afraid of him,
and he was devastating wherever he went.
• Attila invaded the Gaul and also invaded the
eastern half of the Roman empire in the 440’s.
Why I Picked this Person
I picked this person because I wanted a
fierce person that lived long ago and that
wasn’t American or French, I also picked this
person because I already knew a lot about
him.
