When did the Roman
Empire fall?
What was their
downfall?
What fighting
methods did the

When Did the Roman Empire Fall?
Approximately 476
A.D.
It was after several
rulers had usurped the
throne.
Half of it (western)
went to Germanic
powers and the other
half went to Zeno,
who ruled the eastern
half.
The real reason it fell
was because of
greed.
What was the Roman Empires
Downfall?
Many battles for power
broke out in about 376
A.D.
Ruler after ruler was
crowned only to be
defeated.
The real collapse began
with three brothers:
Constantine II,
Constantius II and
Constans.
Many other followed,
Magnentius, Valentian,
and a score more!
What Fighting Methods did the
Roman Warriors Use?
The size of the Roman Army at
its height was 128,000179,000 men
They wore breastplates and
wore chainmail.
They carried Pugio (a small
dagger.
They also used a Gladius (a
short sword)
Their spears were called
Hastas.
Ballistas, Onagers and
Catapults were also used.
