Background
LA Sanitation’s (LASAN’s) Centralized Contracts
Unit (CCU) assists LASAN divisions in the
preparation, award, execution, and management of
vender contracts. CCU must store information and
produce both regular and ad hoc reports about these
contracts. Currently this information is kept in
spreadsheets. The goal of this project is to develop a
database system to replace the spreadsheets.

Objectives
• Develop a database system to manage
data about LASAN.
• Provide a way for users to generate
reports from contract data information.
Results
• Developed a database system (using MS
Access) to manage data about LASAB
contracts with external venders.
• Provided a GUI front-end to enter and
view data.
• Allow specified reports to be generated
from contract data.
