Encounter Flow
Unlike many of the EMR packages today,
PARIS/NXL allows the provider to determine
the order he or she wishes to proceed in the
encounter flow events.
We know your practice is unique, so if the
encounter flow warrants a change it is easy to
move from event to event without losing
information.

We begin by selecting the Patient EMR inquiry Tab.

Search
Next we select the search parameters for the patient
either by using keypad or by clicking the letters on
screen. Use your mouse and click the “A” button.

Above you see all the pre-registered patients whose
last name begins with an “A”. Please select or click
on Abigail Adams.

Patient Visit
This is the Patient Visit Screen. The tabs along the
top are common tasks of an office visit. As we click
through, the provider can verify the information with
Vitals
the patient as well as record updates.

This is the Patient Vitals Screen. It will automatically
display the patient’s last vitals. The provider can
record the current vitals here.

will automatically display the patients last recorded
information. There is also a link to a History of

utilizes your word processor
(such as Microsoft’s Word®)
to open a document to
record information required
for recording a patients HPI.
This document and any
others specific to your
practice can be customized
to fit your needs.

Current Medication displays the most recently
prescribed medications as well as medications the
patient is currently taking. From here we move on
straight to the Exam.

You may have noticed the yellow button with the
thumbtack throughout the previous screens, click on
that button to see “PIN” notes.

PIN Notes: Can be typed or hand-written
and attached to the patient files. An electronic
replacement for the old “notes in the chart”.

Exam
The provider can specify the attending Physician,
any pre-authorizations and Referring Physician, that
will be carried over into the event capture screens.
You can proceed by clicking the Office Visit Button.

The Office Visit screen gives you an overview of the
previously recorded information as well as the most
recent visits. Procedures and Diagnosis codes can
be added with the click of a button.
