ION 12.0 is the new generation of ION.
It provides a new user experience (Infor Xi-based)
and is embedded in Infor Ming.le.
It provides simplified installation and deployment
and can run on an open source platform.
It offers a new browser-based graphical mapper,
and has a number of new features in various areas,
including connectivity (File Connector),
management and traceability (OneView) and
metadata management (such as custom documents).

• Use Infor Ming.le instead
• The stand-alone (Eclipse-based) ION Mapper is phased out
• Mapper Transformations and Data Translations pages are removed from ION Desk
• Use the new graphical mapper instead

• Linux installation is not documented in the public documentation. Linux customers should contact Infor for
advice on their deployment topology.
• Suse is not supported anymore
• ‘Dual host deployment’ not needed anymore, but since a Windows UI server is anyway needed for Xi Platform,
you can use that for ION Desk and have the ION Service running on Linux

Installation and deployment
• Combined Xi Platform installer
• ION, Ming.le (including IFS and Homepages), ION API, IDM and Grid
• Upgrade process:
• First upgrade the ION database from 11.1 to 12.0
• Then use the Xi Platform Installer to install 12.0
• No IIS needed for ION anymore
• Single ION database
• Except when using Oracle, because in that case an additional SQL Server
database is needed
