Will America Conserve Its
Conservatism
This country’s constant shift towards liberality has strained
Christian conservatism to the verge of collapse.

religiously
IV. Why Christian conservatism is on the verge of collapse
individually
V. Where is Christian conservatism going
I. This Country’s Constant
Liberal Shift
1. New more liberal political
parties
2. Rise of individualism
3. Value change
MAIN
Liberal Parties
MAIN
More
Info
• Four times in the United State history there has
been a change in the political system. This change is
noted by the replacement of old parties with new
ones.
• Every time this regime change happens the new
party is always more liberal.
• The reason this happens is that people are
becoming less associated with political parties. They
no long align themselves but rather just half way
support them.
Individualism’s Rise
MAIN
More
Info
• Individualism is a state of mind in where the person
makes the guidelines and morals for their life
instead of following a set of rules found in a
spiritual text.
• Many people adopt individualism because of its
many supporters such as Thomas Hobbes, John
Locke, Benjamin Franklin, John Dewey and Alan
Ryan
• Each one of these philosophers has advocated a
more extreme form of individualism then their
predecessor.
Value Changes
MAIN
More
Info
• Moral and social statistics show a trend in the rise
of premarital sex, illegitimate children, divorce,
feminism, pornography parenting without discipline,
bans of Christian traditions, and drugs used in rape.
• Dr. Dobson has noticed these changes and has thus
created a family values magazine to try and counter
this cultural trend..
II. Liberal Conflicts with
Christian Conservatism
1. Liberal values versus conservative
values
2. Individualism versus religion
3. Conservatism versus progress
4. Politics
MAIN
Liberal Values versus
Conservative Values
• Liberals do not agree with conservative values such
as patriarchal families. Because of their
disagreement, they put forth attacks on the beliefs.
• The vitriolic remarks made on the values has
caused a decline in the amount of people who
believe in them..

Individualism versus
Religion
• There are those now who say the just believe in
God. They attend no church and hold to no set
beliefs.
• This is different from what Dr. Frizzel states should
be. He states that Christians should overcome
their self wants, lead others in Christian lives and
posses the ability to convert unbelievers.

Conservatism versus
Progress
• Conservatives are accused of antagonizing women,
children, blacks, gays and lesbians. Their way of
persecuting the people is denying them their civil
rights and recruiting them into cults.
• Dawson, a great twentieth century philosopher,
explains that as a society progresses it loses its
religious roots. Without a return to these religious
roots, a society will begin to degenerate.

Politics
MAIN
More
Info
• Christian conservatives are told to leave the
government because they will change the
democracy into a theocracy.
• A theocracy is defined as politicians voicing their
opinions and beliefs.
• Even Christians today do not want Christianity in
politics because they feel the attempts will fail so it
should not even be attempted.
III. Why Christian Conservatism is on the
Verge of Collapse Religiously

New denominations
Value system changes
Rise of self gratifiers
Atheists
MAIN
Denominations
MAIN
More
Info
• In Christianity alone, within the denominations,
there exists thirteen different ways of a person
becoming saved and a believer.
• Arguments over ideas such as salvation and who
God is have led to much confusion. This confusion
has then been imparted unto those who do not
believe and disallows them the ability to believe.
Value System
MAIN
More
Info
• Fosdick Harry wishes that Christians today would
reevaluate theological ideas such as God, the Bible,
and Christian history.
• This perversion of conservative Christianity is
allowed because there is a lack of fellowship. People
can attend church for years and no one will even
know whether or not they truly believe or not.
Self Gratifier
MAIN
More
Info
• Since the sixties, sociologists have been predicting
that there will be a change in where religion in this
country is going. They fore told that beliefs would
be founded in a person’s self. No longer would they
relent to religious texts, but now they do what they
feel.
• Statistics show that over a period of five years that
the percentage of Christians happy dropped from
41 percent to 38 percent. People no longer practice
because they are unhappy.
Atheists
MAIN
More
Info
• Atheists are those who believe in only humanities
science and knowledge. They do not believe in any
deity or faith based system whatsoever.
• Many atheists, such as Kimberly Blaker, have
dedicated their lives to researching and disputing
religion. As they go about this research, they
persecute and attack Christians making it harder
for them to continue in their beliefs.
IV. Why Christian Conservatism is on
the Verge of Collapse Individually
1. Christian safe versus Christian
Growth
2. Bible reading
3. Attendance
4. Merchandising
MAIN
Christian Safe versus
Christian Growth
• Some Christian music does have great theological
elements. It will deal with evangelism, salvation, and
the difficulties of a Christian’s life.
• Other artists do not accomplish this eat. Third day,
as an example, on their CD “time” have only one
song explicitly talking about God. The rest might be
interpreted as such but no necessarily.

Bible Reading
MAIN
More
Info
• People are losing their ability to accurately read the
Bible on their own. Words like hallowed, kingdom,
grace, and trespasses are confusing them. Also,
there is a nee for commentaries to the extent to
contain no “scholarly jargon.” People are no longer
becoming smart enough to learn on their own
accord.
• Only two out of five Americans believe the Bible to
be the word of God. Three out of twenty believe it
to be fictionalized. There exists no longer any faith
in the sacred text.
Attendance
MAIN
More
Info
• There is an increase in those attending churches
that have no comprehension of what they believe,
or what they are doing in a church. They have
become so shallow that they are truly only present
in body.
• 58 percent of Americans attend church, but only 53
percent think religion is important. This means five
percent of the population in church does not really
care about what they are doing.
Merchandising
MAIN
More
Info
• People can buy anything now with a Christian
theme to it such as, jewelry, license plates, stickers,
book covers and pens, etc. The problem with that
though sit hat people can buy these things and
believe that they are Christian when they need to
know it from the lives they lead.
• Two Christian books came out at the same time.
One was a fictional story, the other was
introspective book. The one selling more was the
fictional one; people just want to be entertained
not encouraged in Christianity.
V. Where is Christian
Conservatism Going
1. No difference between
Christians and secular
2. Persecuted
3. Outlawed beliefs
4. Total disappearance
MAIN
No Difference Between
Christian and Secular
• There has been and is continuing today, a move
towards “value-neutral” teaching.This would be a
teaching that contains no moral values. The basic
premise is that schools are for instilling
individualism on a person and not instilling a right
or wrong. The biggest group to change to this style
is Christian colleges.
• This same vacuum of values and morals is also seen
in the messages delivered by leaders of the church
today. The lack of substance in their sermons have
allowed new secular thoughts to permeate the
church.
MAIN
More
Info
Persecuted
MAIN
More
Info
• A nationally published magazine contains a militant
speech given by an atheist. While speaking, he says
that is the atheist’s job to get rid of religion any way
possible; threats in politics, force, and many other
illegal activities are given as an example as to how
to do it.
• Because of messages like that saturating our society.
there is a growth in religious related deaths. Illinois,
Colorado, California, and Wyoming have all been hit
deaths of this type.
Outlawed
MAIN
More
Info
• Mississippi fired a principal for neglecting his duty,
disregarding school policy, and had failed his
profession altogether; the one act he committed to
bring on these accusations was he allowed a
student to pray over the intercom. The prayer was
for God to protect the country and the people. The
first step is being outlawed from government
institutions and next is everywhere.
• The IRS will fine heavily any church related
organization that throws support for any political
candidate or proposition or bill. The idea behind it
is that religion has no place in politics and in laws.
Disappearance
MAIN
More
Info
• Over the past forty years America has experienced
a spiritual downfall. The downward spiral has led to
problems such as apathy, disunity, immorality, and
worldliness; it has become such a problem that Dr.
Frizzel believes that Christianity will disappear in
this country in nothing changes.
• A change that would bring revival in this country
would need to titanic. The last few decades have
seen the largest growth in resources for churches
to evangelize and edify members, and still the state
of Christianity has only degenerated.
Conclusion
With the attacks from those who do not believe and the
apathy within the church, it has left Christian
conservatism on the verge of collapse. Unless a drastic
measure were to be implemented in the near future, it
will fade away altogether.
