Adornment of the Christian
Woman (2:9)
“in like manner also, that the women adorn
themselves in modest [decent, orderly, well
arranged, appropriate, to suit the occasion] apparel,
with propriety [to have a sense of shame, modesty,
humility] & moderation [having a sound mind,
good sense] , not with braided hair or gold or
pearls or costly clothing”
Actions of the Christian Woman
(2:10)
“but, [apparel] which is proper for women
professing godliness, with good works.”
Mary M, Joanna, Susanna (Lk 8:1-3)
Dorcas (Acts 9:36ff)
Lydia (16:14ff)

Attitude of the Christian Woman
(2:11-12)
“Let a woman learn in silence [“Hesuchia”
stillness, quietness, 1 Tim 2:2] with all
submission [to rank under] . 12 And I do not
permit a woman to teach or to have authority
over a man, but to be in silence.”
1 Corinthians 14:34 – Let your women keep silent
[“Sigao” to keep silent, to hold peace] in the churches,
for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be
submissive, as the law also says.”
Acts 18:26; 2 Tim 1:5; 3:14-15; Titus 2:3-5
Ambition of the Christian
Woman (2:13-15)
“For Adam was formed first, then Eve [the
creation order]. 14 And Adam was not
deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell
into transgression [the fall into sin]. 15
Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, &
holiness, with self-control [God’s conditional
promise].”
“The hand that rocks the
cradle rules the world”
Men affect the condition of the church today,
but godly women will influence its future.
