This is my 29th year as a
resource/collaboration teacher at MJHS.
Pull-out Classes: Math, READ 180, Tutorial
Study Hall
Accommodations: White/Green Team Math,
White/Green Team Science, and Health
Follow the general education curriculum as
closely as possible
Freedom to move at a slower pace
Additional time to review/reteach as needed
Learning the same concepts and using the
same math text in a small group setting
Encourage students to try their best
Increase overall math skills
Create a fun and relaxed atmosphere for learning
Keep expectations high
Keep stress low
Be flexible
Provide time in class to work on assignment to monitor
understanding and provide additional assistance

Math Portfolio Binder – Math portfolio binders
will be updated and stored in the classroom.
They can be taken home at any time but must
be returned to class the next day.
General outline of the concepts to be covered
during the school year:
Integers
Rational Numbers
Algebraic Expressions, Equations, &
Inequalities
Ratios, Proportions, & Percents
Geometry
Probability & Statistics
Homework Assignments (combination of
completion points/accuracy points)
Quizzes throughout unit
Unit Test
Participation/Responsibility Points
Each student has the opportunity to earn 2
points each day for participating, following
the classroom expectations, and being
prepared.
Failure to participate and/or follow the
classroom expectations will result in a loss of
points.
Most assignments will be started and/or
completed in class.
I allow time for questions and extra help as
needed.
Some assignments will be graded for accuracy
and some will be for completion points.
Late work will be penalized and noted on
PowerSchool.
Homework, quizzes, and tests can be
corrected for ½ credit.
Some corrections are mandatory,
Some corrections are optional and left up to
the students.
Big Ideas Textbook: on iPad
Lesson tutorials (video examples), practice
problems, and many other resources can be
found in each of the chapters.
IXL Math: Corresponding lessons will be
posted in the room and on the website.
Resource Department Website –The math
assignment will be posted each day on this
website. The website is reviewed each day in
tutorial study hall.
PowerSchool – Please check your student’s
grades on a weekly basis.
