How does it work?
Open enrollment - Student may enroll on any day of the year and begin
coursework in 10 days, or less
Students work at a pace that meets their academic and personal needs
Instructors work with each student on an individual basis with mastering
competencies. Most courses also include collaborative assignments.
Students must pass all competency assessments (85%) in addition to having a
passing grade in order to be awarded credit.
Academic and technical helpdesks available to provide support when an
instructor is not available.
We are committed to…
Helping students to become college,
career and citizenship ready
Providing competency based education
Allowing students anytime access to a rigorous,
personalized education
! About 1/2 of U.S. students enrolling in
community college require remediation.
! For minority students the numbers are even
higher, as much as 90% in some places.
! Only about 22% of students that undertake
remediation complete college and receive a
degree.
It’s time to rethink readiness.
46% of HS graduates achieved ACT
benchmark for college math readiness
