Basic Structure
3 Year BSc Single Honours
 Single Honours: 3 year degree
• 120 credits of modules in each year
• Modules are normally 10 credits in this School
• 60 credits (usually) each Semester:
Semester 1 Sept-Jan, Semester 2 Jan-June.
 1st Year
• 80 Credits of Compulsory modules (80/120 = 2/3)
• 40 Credits of Choice, perhaps more Maths, or 'any' other topic
 2nd Year
• 60 Credits of Compulsory modules plus at least 40 credits of
optional modules. 20 Credits of study in other Schools allowed
 3rd Year
• Compulsory Group Project (10 credits).
• Choose from a wide variety of modules offered by Maths & Stats.
• 20 Credits of study in other Schools allowed.

You can take all, some or none of the extra MAS modules
 The University rules allow you to take any other modules!

• the timetable allowing it
• the module leader/DPD accepting you (A level, module full)
 Can be changed in first 2 – 3 weeks (DPD Form)
 The popular choices are those which occur in degree combinations with
Maths and Stats:
Accounting, Business Studies, Psychology, Economics
 as well as
a language (e.g. Spanish, Chinese).
 But which module? Usually the same as the JH and 'with' students.
