Mathematics Today
Math literacy is every teacher’s responsibility
Students see the real life applications of math when it is
used in other subject areas
Technology gives the ability to electronically simulate
real world events and collect real time data
Such simulations allow students to visualize and explore
important mathematical concepts as well as real
world and interdisciplinary connections
– Educational research -- not to mention experience and common
sense -- tells us that students learn best and make better sense
of what they're learning when they can make connections with
previous learning or with different areas of learning
