What are emoticons/emojis and acronyms?
• "emoticon" short for emotion icon - indicates the mood and / or
emotion of the writer- influences the online message interpretation
• an abbreviation formed from the initial letters of other words and
pronounced as a word e.g. ASAP (as soon as possible)
• They can lead to misscomunication
e.g. LOL- LAUGH OUT LOUD/ LOTS OF LOVE
