Self- Awareness:
Therapeutic awareness: being conscious of
one’s own emotions, values, opinions, and
behavior.
Countertransference: unconsciously
determined attitudinal set held by the therapist
which interferes with his/her work.


Clinicians must make sure clients have the ability to
make rational decisions.

Therapists must give clients information in a clear
way and check their understanding of the risks.

Clients must consent freely to treatment.


involving the development of negative self-concept,

feelings for clients.

