Charles Lindbergh was a famous pilot. He was the first man to fly solo across the Atlantic
Ocean. Anne Lindbergh was his wife. They were very rich. On the cold night of March 1,1932,
someone kidnapped their baby from their home. The kidnapper used a ladder. The person wrote
a note and asked for $50,000.

Decades later, there is still no proof of who the real kidnapper was in the Lindbergh
case. Tragically, the baby was found dead two months after the kidnapping. Bruno
Hauptmann was arrested and executed in 1936, but he never made a confession. Many
people still believe he was not the real kidnapper.
