Genesis of the
project
Any person can find himself
become non-verbal at sometime
in his life, such as: persons with
non-verbal disabilities, brain
injured, or even tourists or
business men visiting a country
using a language foreign to them.
Around 15% of the world’s
population has been identified with
some type of disability (WHO,
2012). This percentage is estimated
to rise to 32% by the year 2026.
Non-Verbal persons, non-Arabic
speakers, persons with disabilities
or brain injury, can become
isolated because of their difficulty
in communicating with others.
Our Idea is developing,
using assistive
technology, a mobile
application that can be
used to help
Non Verbal Persons
to communicate with
others rather than using
body gestures.

(PECs)
PECS was developed in
1985 as a unique
augmentative/alternative
communication
intervention package for
individuals with Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
and related developmental
disabilities.
