A: They split up the rich and the

and many men were in the king’s
army.

Shang dynasty’s history
 About 50,000 B.C modern day people came
from China who lived in caves and wore
leather.
By 4,000 B.C then they started to farm rice and
kept sheep and chickens.
By around 3,000 B.C they were using pottery.
By 2,000 B.C the shang dynasty had entered the
bronze age and had begun to use writing.
By about 1,800 B.C the shang dynasty most of
China and ruled it under one emperor.
About 1,100 B.C the Chou dynasty took over

About 1,500 B.C the shang dynasty built
buildings that look like the ones in China today
that you could tell they weren’t from West Asia
or Africa.
In the cities people lived in in rows of
rectangular houses laid out in rows, built out of
wood and rammed Earth.
In the middle of the city there was a big temple
or palace (architects aren’t sure if it is one or
the other) on a high platform.
An-yang was a big hall of pillars all the way
around it that was the size of a football field!

By about 2,000 B.C, people in China had
learned how to make bronze out of copper
and tin from people of the West Asia
Soon people began to make a lot of jars and
plaques (better known as flat pieces)
Some jars were plain
Some jars had a lot of fancy designs sticking
out of them.
Towards the end of the shang dynasty
around 1,200 B.C people began to write
messages on these jars and cups.
