Neolithic Era Vocab
Neolithic Era/Revolution
• The last period of the Stone Age when
human beings began to develop agriculture
and use stone tools and weapons made from
shaped and polished stone. People lived in
one place and began to specialize.
Agriculture
• Agriculture: The raising of crops and animals
for human use.
Subsistence Agriculture
• Growing only enough crops and having
enough livestock for your immediate family.
• Subsistence farmers are not growing extra
food to sell or trade.
Domestication
• To train plants and animals to be useful to
people.
Livestock
• Animals kept for their use to humans.
Specialization
• To have different types of jobs which people
become skilled in.
Ex.) Architect, Farmer, Warrior, Carpenter.
Stone Age
• From 70,000 BC- 4,000 BC. Humans began
showing first signs of civilization, first in the
Paleolithic Era when humans began to use
stone and bone tools & then in the Neolithic
when humans began to use agriculture.
