During the Vietnam War the
youth of America were looking for
answers about the war itself and society
overall. Timothy Leary taught the youth
that it was ok to “free one’s mind” or
basically get stoned out of your mind
and question the authority of the United
States. Before the 1960’s not too many
people knew about LSD and other
psychedelic drugs. LSD is a tasteless,
odorless, colorless substance that can be
taken in a variety of ways. Between 1960
and 1970 over 2 million people have
experienced an LSD trip. Leary
experienced his first LSD trip in 1962. He
described it as “The most shattering
experience of my life”. He became the
spokesperson for LSD shortly after.
Taking LSD and listening to the preaching
of Timothy Leary and others, greatly
affected the youth of America during
that time.
In 1967 war escalated between
Israel and Jordan, Syria, and
Egypt. When it became a country
The Arab nations were not happy
since it was made up of their
previously known homeland.
Troops were seen attacking
civilians and farmland. The
Israeli’s retaliated by shooting
down Syrian planes. The outcome
of the six day war was completely
unexpected. The Arab nations
planned on winning, but were
upset by Israel’s quick tactics. The
Arab nations that planed for the
war were sent home embarrassed
that they lost to a nation
previously viewed as inferior.

predict what there doing. The
pictures taken bye the satellite where

Union. The Soviet Union never caught
it and did not see the pictures until
