Classical Conditioning
Operant conditioning (sometimes referred to as instrumental conditioning) is a
method of learning that occurs through rewards and punishments for behavior.
Through operant conditioning, an association is made between a behavior and a
consequence for that behavior.
The Hawthorne effect — an increase in worker productivity produced
by the psychological stimulus of being singled out and made to feel
important.
Stockholm Syndrome is an apparently paradoxical
psychological phenomenon in which hostages express empathy
and have positive feelings towards their captors, sometimes to
the point of defending them.
Jaycee Lee Dugard
The Syndrome is named after the Norrmalmstorg robbery of Kreditbanken at
Norrmalmstorg in Stockholm, in which bank employees were held hostage from
August 23 to August 28, 1973. In this case, victims became emotionally attached to
their captors, and even defended them after they were freed from their six-day ordeal.

Collective Unconscious
“My thesis then, is as follows: in addition to our immediate
consciousness, which is of a thoroughly personal nature and
which we believe to be the only empirical psyche (even if we
tack on the personal unconscious as an appendix), there
exists a second psychic system of a collective, universal,
and impersonal nature which is identical in all individuals.
This collective unconscious does not develop individually but
is inherited. It consists of pre-existent forms, the archetypes,
which can only become conscious secondarily and which
give definite form to certain psychic contents.”.1
