Jazz
• Jazz was created by the African slaves in the plantations of America.
• Jazz was sometimes referred to as classic jazz, traditional jazz, or even
Dixieland jazz.
• Jazz sounds slow, fast, happy, sad, gloomy, angry, crazy, peaceful, soft,
heavy, light, dark, groovy, outdated.
• The instruments: trumpet, clarinet, and the saxophone influence the
sound of jazz.
• Jazz makes me tap my feet and clap my hands together at the same time.

Miles Davis
• Miles Davis was an American jazz musician, tr
umpeter, bandleader, and composer.
• Miles Davis was born in May 26, 1926.
• Miles Davis died in September 28, 1991.
• He was considered one of the most influential
musicians of the 20th century.

periods of time throughout Western Europe.
• There are 4 periods in classical music.
• The 4 periods are: Baroque Period(1600-2000)
