Volunteering: undertaking service to individuals or the community
Physical: improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities
Skills: developing practical and social skills and personal interests
Expedition: planning, training for and completion of an
adventurous journey in the UK or abroad

Aim
• To inspire young people to
develop initiative and a
sense of adventure and
discovery, by planning,
training for and completing
an adventurous journey as
part of a team.

Numbers
• Last year we had 97 students undertaking the
Bronze award.
• This year the award is being offered to all
students in year 10.
• Total cost £120 (this covers everything other than
food students take on the expedition + personal
walking gear)
– Some equipment will be provided (tents/stoves…)
– Boots/bags/clothing should be owned by the student
so they are familiar with it and it is worn in.
What’s next?
• Year 10s need to complete the registration form
and get it back to me by the end of this week.
• Pay the deposit of £30 a place for the Bronze
Award.
• I will register all pupils to allow them to log on
and start completing their sections.
• Volunteering will be begin with Citizenship
Training sessions will be on Monday after school
3-4pm( January 2016) (cover camp craft,1st aid, route
planning…)
• Expedition and practice will be in June / July 2016
