Transcript Boundaries

“Good Fences make good neighbors”
- Robert Frost -
Personal boundaries are guidelines, rules or
limits that a person creates to identify for
themselves what are reasonable, safe and
permissible ways for other people to behave
towards him or her and how they will respond
when someone steps past those limits. They are
built out of a mix of conclusions, beliefs, opinions,
attitudes, past experiences and social learning.

The church is committed to being open to those who wish to
worship with us, especially in times of personal troubles.
However, concerns have been raised with regard to your contact
with minors and/or disabled adults in our congregation.
Whether or not these concerns are valid or accurate, at minimum,
they present a challenge for the church in creating a welcoming
and safe environment for the families of children and youth.
Therefore, the following guidelines are designed to reduce the risk
to both you and minors of an incident or accusation. We welcome
you to our congregation and our membership, however, your
participation will be limited in order to safeguard minors and to
protect you from becoming the subject of accusations.
Within these guidelines, the church welcomes your participation
in the church.
General Intent :
This agreement is in effort to provide support,
encouragement and accountability to individuals
seeking to grow in their relationship with Christ
and provide boundaries of security for everyone
involved. This agreement clarifies reasonable
guidelines supporting those that have been
placed on watch by the courts in effort to protect
them and others from some type of sexual
offense. This agreement does not assume guilt,
but does assume a unique level of security being
necessary.
