of opposition leader and electoral fraud.
 It took 3 days, 2 million Filipinos of all walks of life.

Organized civil resistance and disobedience
 Church, celebrities, political icons.
 Inspired Gandhi & Rest of the world.

Marcos’ exiled to Hawaii.
 “Revolution that surprised the world.”

BAYAN KO (MY COUNTRY)
Considered to be the “second” national anthem.
 Has deep, emotional Tagalog translation that
resonates the fight for democracy.
 The song’s lyrics link the motherland with a caged
bird that should be set free to live and to prosper.
 Opposition’s weapon to rally the oppressed
Filipinos and reinvigorate & empower them to take
our country back.

To commemorate the lives taken and sacrifices during
the Marcos’ Regime.
Reminds people of our history.
Created in 1993, 7 years after the People Power
Revolution.
Depicts “Inang Bayan” (motherland) with unchained
arms to the sky.
37 individual statues underneath her to represent
various sectors that were involved in the revolution.
CONCLUSION
All these artworks are all connected because
they were used to change minds and
perspectives.
 It gave people a chance to develop their own
opinions and beliefs.
 Art works (propaganda)played into each theme
we discussed.
 Art works are historical references that will
teach future generations of who we really are.

