Hitler wanted Germany to regain the land lost in
1919 and to dominate Europe. To do this
Germany needed to recover its economic strength
by:
Reducing unemployment – in 1933 it was 6
million.
Rebuilding the German armaments industry –
rearm and enlarge the German army, navy and air
force.
Making Germany self-sufficient so it could not be
blockaded in times of war.
