• Classifying History- History is big. And there is a LOT of
stuff in it. In order to make it meaningful, scholars often
look at only a piece of history, as if looking through a
telescope at a particular set of stars instead of the whole
universe. We call this viewing history through a Lens.
• Three very useful lenses to help us focus on history are to
look at the Political, Economic and Social aspects of
history individually.

• Look over your chart on Political, Economic and Social
classifications so you remember how to categorize each one.
• Read you piece of Chinese History
• Brainstorm what is MOST significant in each category (P, E
and S)
• Pick your top 3 – 6 bullets for each category (come see me if
you can’t find any for one of the categories)
• Consider what furniture or décor you could use SHOW what
you revealed in your bullets. Look at the examples on your
instructions.
• Show me a rough draft to get paper for your Floor.
