•The device of the testimonial.
•The device of plain folk.
•Card stacking.
•The band wagon device.
Propaganda can be as blatant
as a swastika or as subtle as a
humorous joke. Its persuasive
techniques are regularly
applied by politicians,
advertisers, journalists, radio
personalities, and others who
are interested in influencing
how humans behave
Propagandistic messages can
be used to accomplish
positive social ends, as in
campaigns to reduce drunk
driving, to win elections, and
cause people to hate others.
Using Fear
Uncertainty and
the fear of the
worst can
influence people
into action to
protect their
own.
Persuading the Children
"Youth Serves the Führer. All 10year-olds into the Hitler Youth. "
Membership in the Hitler Youth
was mandatory in 1936
The Poisonous Mushroom
by Julius Streicher. This
children’s book was often
taught in schools.
Diminishing the Soul
"The Eternal Jew."
"The Jew: The inciter of war, the
prolonger of war."
“The Seed of Peace
Not Dragons Teeth”
The angel in the
background suggests
that German
greatness is a positive
thing and not a
threat. This imagery
is quite deliberate
and is based on a
parable in the bible of
a man sowing seeds,
which suggests a link
between Hitler and
God.
Loyalty

“The sword will not be
sheathed. The Stürmer
stands as ever In battle
for the people and the
fatherland.
It fights the Jews
because it loves the
people. “
