CORONAL POLISHING
Indications

Contraindications
INTRODUCTION
Coronal polishing is a technique used to
remove plaque and stains from the coronal
surfaces of the teeth.
It is important to understand the difference
between coronal polishing and a dental
prophylaxis, which is also known as a
cleaning to remove calculus.
BENEFITS OF CORONAL POLISHING
Fluorides are better accepted into the
enamel.
Polishing prepares the teeth for placement of
dental sealants.
Smooth tooth surfaces are easier for the
patient to keep clean.
