Deciduous vs. Permanent Teeth
• Start losing baby teeth at 4 months (incisors are first)
• Most incisors come in at 4 months old
Home Dental Care
• Reduces bad breath – “Halitosis”
• A build up a plaque leads to tarter leads to gingivitis

• Floride – Prevent plaque
• Constructive chewing
• Periodontal disease – build up of tarter

Professional Cleaning

• Dental Pick – don’t spend more than 10 seconds on a
tooth (enamel – no nerves)
• Ultrasonic scaling
• Use polishing compound
• If you must remove a tooth, important
to follow up with antibiotic
