Genesis 22:14
So Abraham called that place The
Lord Will Provide. And to this
day it is said, “On the mountain
of the Lord it will be provided.”
Genesis 45:7-8
“But God sent me ahead of you
to preserve for you a remnant on
earth and to save your lives by a
great deliverance. So then, it was
not you who sent me here, but
God. He has made me father to
Pharaoh lord of his entire
household and ruler of all Egypt.”
Exodus 1:10
Come, we must deal shrewdly
with them or they will become
even more numerous . . .
Exodus 1:11-12
So they put slave masters over
them to oppress them with forced
labor . . . But the more they were
oppressed the more they
multiplied . . .
Exodus 1:12-14
So the Egyptians came to dread
the Israelites and worked them
ruthlessly. They made their lives
bitter with harsh labor
Exodus 1:22
Then Pharaoh gave this order to
all his people: “Every Hebrew
boy that is born you must throw
into the Nile.”
Exodus 2:11
One day after Moses had grown
up, he went out to where his own
people were and watched them at
their hard labor.
Hebrews 11:24-25
By faith Moses, when he had
grown up, refused to be known
as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.
He chose to be mistreated along
with the people of God rather
than to enjoy the fleeting
pleasures of sin.
Exodus 5:1
Moses and Aaron went to
Pharaoh and said, “This is what
the Lord, the God of Israel, says:
‘Let my people go.’
Exodus 5:2
Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord,
that I should obey him and let
Israel go? I do not know the Lord
and I will not let Israel go.”
Exodus 5:22
Moses returned to the Lord and
said, “Why, Lord, have you
brought trouble on this people?
Is this why you sent me?
Exodus 5:23
Ever since I went to Pharaoh to
speak in your name he has
brought trouble on this people,
and you have not rescued your
people at all.”
Exodus 6:1
“Now you will see what I will do
to Pharaoh: because of my
mighty hand he will let them go.”
Exodus 6:6
Therefore, say to the Israelites: “I
am the Lord, and I will bring you
out from under the yoke of the
Egyptians.”
Exodus 6:9
Moses reported this to the
Israelites, but they did not listen
to him because of their
discouragement and harsh labor.
Exodus 3:19
But I know that the king of Egypt
will not let you go unless a
mighty hand compels him. So I
will stretch out my hand and
strike the Egyptians with all the
wonders that I will perform
among them. After that, he will
let you go.
Exodus 7:4-5
“Then I will lay my hand on Egypt
and with mighty acts of judgment
I will bring out my divisions, my
people the Israelites. And the
Egyptians will know that I am the
Lord when I stretch out my hand
against Egypt and bring the
Israelites out of it.”
Exodus 9:13-14
This is what the Lord, the God of
the Hebrews, says: Let my people
go, so that they may worship me,
or this time I will send the full
force of my plagues against you
. . . so that you may know that
there is no one like me in all the
earth.

[God] wants all people to be saved
and to come to a knowledge of the
truth.
Exodus 8:18-19
But when the magicians tried to
produce gnats by their secret
arts they could not . . . The
magicians said to Pharaoh, “This
is the finger of God.”
Exodus 9:20
Those officials of Pharaoh who
feared the word of the Lord
hurried to bring their slaves and
their livestock inside. But those
who ignored the word of the Lord
left their slaves and livestock in
the field.
Exodus 12:38
Many other people went up with
them . . .
Exodus 6:6-7
Say to the Israelites: ‘I am the
Lord, and I will bring you out
from under the yoke of the
Egyptians. I will free you from
being slaves to them, and I will
redeem you with mighty acts of
judgment. I will take you as my
own people, and I will be your
God. Then you will know that I
am the Lord your God.
Exodus 9:15-16
For by now I could have stretched
out my hand and struck you and
your people with a plague that
would have wiped you off the
earth. But I have raised you up for
this very purpose, that I might
show you my power and that my
name might be proclaimed in all
the earth.
Two Lessons
1. God wants to be known.
2. God judges sin.
Exodus 11:4-5
So Moses said, “This is what the
Lord says: ‘About midnight I will
go throughout Egypt. Every
firstborn son in Egypt will die.”
Exodus 12:12
On that same night I will pass
through Egypt and strike down
every firstborn of both people and
animals, and I will bring judgment
on the gods of Egypt.
I am the Lord.
Exodus 12:13
The blood will be a sign for you on
the houses where you are, and
when I see the blood, I will pass
over you. No destructive plague
will touch you when I strike Egypt.
